Removed the grentch activity from festival towns.

Could this be interpreted to mean they accidentally put the grentches in with the first update? If I recall, traditionally they don't enter the towns for a few days after the start of Wintersday.

Did they futz with something today (16th), cause I got Yet Another New Build. I hope to ghu they made fetching the garlic actually *possible* if you have WiK on- cause it was freaking insane otherwise. A few dozen tries with buff and boosts and I never could keep the darn necro alive. *grumble* I kinda miss snagging prezzies before the grentches, too.

I was thinking the same. If I'm not mistaken, they always came a few days after the event started.

A friend of mine who got the Lyssa Costume signed on after purchasing to find out she got the Kormir Costume instead. According to the wiki, other people suffered a bug that switched what was bought.
She has already sent for support, but wont be on till tomorrow to find out if she'll get the Lyssa one instead.

All these bugs are a clear sign they have too much on their plate. Working on WoC part 3, Ele/HM update and god knows what else they have started has them making mistakes. I can only hope the Ele update goes off without a hitch. However I expect the worse.

So, about that new PvP mode , this is quite cool but frankly there are many problems , which are the same as every PvP format :
- it's too long( most fights do last at least 20mn) and the reward isn't enough good
- due to previous point, people aren't playing it a lot( i just logged and it's already empty..)
- it has too many teleport bugs( i.e when leave the arena) and doesn't really involve tactics... you can solo champions too easily and play defensive rather easily for the rest of the game...
- it was supposed to be played with heroes but i can't, nor can i get a match when i just click Go...
Apart of that, nothing to add more than last year... polar bear quest is still fun to do, snowball AT is still botted a bit( much more less though)..

It's cool that they are trying to make the League of Legends game (Fighting in a Winter Wonderland/ Operation Crush Spirits) more like that game it's based on. However the pink boundary is just to annoying. It was really fun last year, working as a team and trying to avoid groups. Now it's just feels like an on rail shooter.
I understand the need for this in the PvP version. However the PvE version of the map needs to open up a little more.
I hope the Grentch are not gone, I enjoyed spending a few minutes a day giving gifts to Scrappy Jim or other NPC kid's.
The Urgoz Update just seems weird, we spent 4 years playing with the teleport skill. Was there some outcry from the masses I missed? It was pretty simple. I mean it an ELITE AREA, shouldn't it be puzzling to people on how to beat it? I understand it required a skill from another game, but I never saw a problem with it.
Well, I guess I should be thankful I don't have to take the skill anymore as an event leader...lol
This is just a weird Winterday, seem strange. I guess things change. I still want gifts to randomly drop like they used to though..lol now that was fun during the final events.

So was there any official word why the Grentches were removed?
Not the same without them. I loved using my sugar boosts to out run them and pick up a present from Scrappy.
Update:
I just noticed Jochim is still in LA and says:-
"Some people really get down on Grenth during Wintersday, but what they don't realize is that without winter, there would be no spring. He plays his role just as Dwayna plays hers. Granted, sending mischievious Grentches about is a little over the top... But really, is it any worse than having these kids running around screaming, building snowmen everywhere, and throwing snowballs at strangers?"
